The University of Manchester

Like a phoenix from the ashes!

The Brief: We were commissioned to produce a short film for the University of Manchester to thank donors who contributed to the development of the new Paterson Building and cancer research centre in South Manchester. The aim was to create a warm, sincere and visually engaging two-minute video that would give supporters a real sense of the space their generosity helped bring to life. The film was structured as a guided walk through the new facility, offering a look at the building’s interior while highlighting its future impact on cancer research.

We combined sweeping visuals of the space with a heartfelt piece to camera from Dr Robert Bristow, a key figure behind the project, whose message added a personal and genuine tone. To acknowledge the highest level of donor support, we also produced a set of bespoke versions, each including a tailored thank you message at the end. The final result is thoughtful, professional and full of warmth, creating a meaningful connection between the University and the donors who helped make it all possible.
